The Johannesburg Society of Advocates (“JSA”) assists the General Council of the Bar (“GCB”) in seeking to participate in the public debate around the appointment of candidates for judicial appointment through the provision of comments on the candidates for judicial appointment to the Judicial Services Commission (“JSC”). This is done by the JSA and the GCB as part of their commitment to participatory democracy. These comments are published on the website of the GCB with the consent and knowledge of the JSC and may be accessed here.
